Jonna Sandberg

Jonna Sandberg’s research is focusing on the colon fermentation of designed whole grain cereal based products.

Jonna is investigating the potential use of these products for prevention of obesity and type 2 diabetes.

The main focus is the semi-acute effects, e.g. 10-14 h after ingesting the test product, on glucose metabolism, inflammation as well as appetite regulation and energy intake in healthy adults.

The work includes chemical characterization and design of test products as well as planning and performing meal studies including healthy volunteers.
